The “High Pressure Platform” of IMPMC is dedicated to the experimentation at extreme conditions of pressure and temperature. It utilizes a wide range of high pressure technologies including diamond anvil cells and large-volume presses, as well as high and low temperature techniques such as resistive heating, laser heating or cryostats. The equipment of the platform can be used for the study of either solid or liquid samples coming from diverse fields of study: physics, chemistry, synthesis of novel technological materials, mineralogy or earth sciences. The engineers of the platform are also very active in the conception, development and assembly of experimental setups and instrumentation related to high pressure. The platform is also open to external researchers that come to use our resources.
