Highlights

• Functions and dysfunctions of ion channels

The BIBIP team has studied, through experimental and/or theoretical approaches, the structure and dynamics of membrane proteins, especially the potassium channel KirBac (1) and the chloride channel CFTR (2). These researches lay the foundations for the development of specific therapeutical approaches , in the context of genetic diseases.

• Methodological developments for the structural analysis of biological matter

This team develop several approaches for protein sequence analysis, for cryo-EM images analysis and for the analysis of biomolecule dynamics. These have led, among others, to give useful tools for deciphering the functional information within genomes  (1), for predicting structural features associated with protein stability (2), for describing the conformational variability of macromolecula assemblies (3) and for understanding the fundamental mechanisms associated with DNA damage (4).
