Cosmochemistry

The purpose of cosmochemistry is to determine the conditions of formation and evolution of our solar system 4.5 billion years ago by means of meteorite analysis coupled with astronomical observation of forming stars.
The team members are interested in a variety of questions such as the origin of minerals and/or organic matter, the interaction of the nascent solar system with the stellar environment, the geology of asteroids, the formation of planets, the origin of mass-dependent isotope fractionation. It relies on theoretical and analytical skills (nanoSIMS, TEM, XANES, SEM, GC-irMS...).
